New Hope

Today I took my first dose of Provigil the "genius drug"
In studies, this drug has been shown to step up brain power when presented with a challenge. Stimulants slow down the brain which usually causes increased focusing power. This drug is sometimes used off-label for ADD patients usually in combination with some other Add drug.

I specifically requested it over Strattera due to it's boosting brain power. For the last couple of years when ever I face an intellectual challenge my brain just "turns off". Even things I've been previously interested or things I know I would be interested in. It's very frustrating. I thought once I changed some things and encountered new challenges I would be able to focus on the interesting challenges again. However that has not been the case.

Today I experienced some new hope after taking 50mg of Provigil (1/4 regular dose). I was able to sit down and think about work. It felt like I was my old self again! I've read reviews on this drug and it's not necessarily consistent and there are no studies on long-term usage. I'm hoping it will jump start my brain and that I will be able to go off it and retain the benefits. We'll see....
